Set Number of Allowable Vacation and Sick Days
You can set the number of allowable vacation and sick days that can be taken, both globally and per user. When users schedule time off, their remaining days will be recalculated and their availability will be updated in the Capacity Planner.
Set Global Number of Allowable Vacation and Sick Days
A Portfolio Admin can set the global number of allowable vacation and sick days.
To set the global number of allowable days:
Navigate to Apps > Portfolio and select Settings in the left nav bar.
Select the Users tab.
Enter the number of allowable Vacation days and the number of allowable Sick days.
Click Save.
Set Number of Allowable Vacation and Sick Days for a User
A Jira admin can also set the number of allowable vacation and sick days for a specific users. (If a user’s number of days is not specified, Portfolio will use the globally configured number of days.)
To set the number of allowable vacation and sick days for a user:
Navigate to Apps > Portfolio and select Settings in the left nav bar.
Select the Users tab.
Click Add user settings.
Disable the Inherit from global toggle.
Enter the number of Vacation days and the number of Sick days.
Click Save.
Edit a User’s Allowable Vacation and Sick Days
Jira admins can edit a user’s number of allowable vacation and sick days.
To edit a user’s number of allowable days:
Navigate to Apps > Portfolio and select Settings in the left nav bar.
Select the Users tab.
Click on the Pencil icon for the user.
Adjust the number of allowable Vacation days and the number of allowable Sick days.
Click Save.
Delete a User’s Allowable Vacation and Sick Days
A Jira admin can remove a user’s configured number of allowable vacation and sick days. If no vacation and/or sick days are set for a user, Portfolio will use the globally configured number of days.
To delete a user’s number of allowable days:
Navigate to Apps > Portfolio and select Settings in the left nav bar.
Select the Users tab.
Click on the Trash icon for the user.
Click Delete to confirm you want to remove the configured vacation and sick days.
