Forge with Remotes Q2 2026
We are actively progressing through this phase of our migration, with our frontend already being moved to Forge to take advantage of the latest Jira extensibility capabilities and enable faster, more seamless updates. At the same time, our existing backend and database infrastructure—built to industry-leading standards for security and privacy—continues to ensure stability and trust throughout the transition. This approach allows us to deliver immediate improvements while maintaining the reliability our customers expect.
Running on Atlassian LATE 2026 - eARLY 2027
In the next phase, we will transition our data storage and backend processing to Atlassian’s infrastructure. This move brings built-in benefits such as data residency and closer alignment with Atlassian’s platform capabilities, while also enabling us to support customers interested in Atlassian’s Isolated Cloud offering for the highest security standards. We are approaching this step with careful planning and rigorous testing to ensure a smooth, disruption-free experience for our existing customers, while further strengthening security, compliance, and scalability.
Q&A:
Will all editions of Checklists for Jira be on Forge?
Yes, although because they offer a slightly different feature set the exact release dates may differ by a few weeks.
Will any features be removed in the migration?
Our goal is to maintain all existing functionality after the migration, and as we go we often fix small bugs that we didn’t have time to get to in the past! However, there may be some limitations on the new platform as it is quite new. If there are any changes to the feature set or your existing configuration, we will be make sure to notify you via the app’s release notes in the Marketplace.
Known changes:
-
Mobile app view is no longer supported by Atlassian for third party apps. You can still view the checklists in the web version on mobile devices.
-
Because Jira sometimes hides app panels, we recommend pinning the panel using Jira’s mechanism instead of the Show empty checklists on work items option in the settings. Learn more
-
Checklist progress custom fields are changing IDs, so you may need to re-add them to work item or Agile board card views. The Checklist Text field should remain unchanged.
What are the benefits of moving to Forge?
Forge represents Atlassian’s next-generation platform, offering improved security, tighter integration with Jira, and access to new extensibility features. For customers, this means more reliable apps, faster updates, built-in compliance benefits such as data residency, and a stronger foundation for future innovation.
What will the migration process look like—will our data remain intact and will our work be disrupted?
We are committed to making the migration as smooth and seamless as possible. Your data will remain intact and will be securely carried over throughout the transition. Our goal is to avoid any disruption to your team’s day-to-day work, and in most cases, the process will happen in the background. However, there may be some final steps required from your Jira administrators to complete the migration, and we will provide clear guidance and support to ensure everything is finalized quickly and easily.
